Banned cream, cigarettes, and electronics worth Tk15 lakh seized at Ctg airport
Authorities released the passengers with a formal warning as it was reportedly their first such offense

Authorities at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport (SAIA) seized a consignment of banned skincare products, foreign cigarettes, mobile phones, and a laptop from the luggage of three passengers arriving from Abu Dhabi yesterday night (9 July).
The estimated value of the seized items is roughly Tk15 lakh.
The passengers — Md Ripon, Md Mojibur Rahman, and Md Tajul Islam, all from Feni — were intercepted at around 8:55pm after clearing immigration and passing through the green channel.
Officials recovered 2,500 units of banned whitening cream worth Tk7.5 lakh from a brand which has been restricted for import in Bangladesh, 100 cartons of foreign cigarettes valued at Tk2.8 lakh, seven mobile phones worth Tk4.2 lakh, and a laptop valued at Tk65,000.
"As it was reportedly the first such offense by the passengers, authorities released them with a formal warning after confiscating the goods," said SAIA Public Relations Officer Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil.
A joint team comprising the National Security Intelligence (NSI), Customs, Airport Security (AVSEC), and the Air Force Task Force searched their baggage at around 9:20pm.
