‘Bangladeshis did not go to Italy with fake Covid-19 certificates’

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today confirmed that the around 1,600 Bangladeshis who went to Italy recently did not carry fake Covid-19 certificates.
The remark has made after the news published by some newspapers and news channels regarding detection of coronavirus among some Bangladeshi expatriates in Italy.
Some of these passengers on their own carried Covid-19 free certificates just in case they required those subsequently.

The Italian Government has not yet put any condition to carry Covid-19 free certificate for travelling to Italy.
Unfortunately, some Bangladeshis who travelled to Italy in the recent days did not follow the mandatory quarantine rule, and probably a few of them might have spread the virus in the community.
In the last one week, out of 5,000 tests, 65 Bangladeshis resident in the Lazzio region of Italy tested Covid-19 positive.
The Government of Italy has decided to conduct Covid-19 tests for all Bangladeshis (around 30,000) living the Lazzio region, in coordination with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Rome.
Regarding the ban on flights from Bangladesh to Italy, Italian authorities have suspended 12 countries till 31 July 2020.
