In the afternoon, a webinar was arranged by the Embassy to discuss the significance of the day in Bangladesh's national life. Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury welcomed the distinguished speakers and participants in the webinar where former ambassador to Bangladesh and former foreign secretary of Nepal Mr. Madhu Raman Acharya, former secretary general of SAARC and former foreign secretary of Nepal Mr. Arjun Bahadur Thapa, and President of Nepal Council of World Affairs Mr. Hemanta Kharel were key discussants. Recalling the contributions of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the speakers highlighted the crucial role the historic speech played in inspiring people to fight for securing their rights.

ln his concluding remarks, Ambassador Chowdhury mentioned that Bangabandhu's powerful speech of 7th March  was a testimony of his great statesmanship and prudence in reflecting the emotions and dreams of the oppressed Bengalis and virtually transforming it as the clarion call for Bangladesh's independence. The speech will remain as a source of inspiration for all the downtrodden people of all the times.

The webinar was attended by Nepal's academia, intelligentsia, former students who studied in Bangladesh, members of civil society, cultural activists and Bangladeshi expatriates.
