Bangladesh army chief leaves for Malaysia to join Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference
The visit is expected to further strengthen relations between the armed forces of Bangladesh and other Indo-Pacific countries and enhance opportunities for mutual cooperation

Bangladesh Army Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka today (22 September) for a four-day official visit to Malaysia to participate in the 14th Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference (IPACC) 2025.
The conference, jointly organised by the US Indo-Pacific Command and the Malaysian Defence Force in Kuala Lumpur, will bring together army chiefs from the Indo-Pacific region to strengthen friendship and cooperation, exchange views on common challenges, and discuss coordinated measures in regional crises, according to a press release from the Bangladesh Army.
It added that the visit is expected to further strengthen relations between the armed forces of Bangladesh and other Indo-Pacific countries and enhance opportunities for mutual cooperation.
General Waker-uz-Zaman is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on 27 September.
