Bangladesh among top sources of tourists to India over last five years

Bangladesh has consistently ranked as one of the largest sources of foreign tourists to India in recent years, according to official data shared in the Indian parliament.
Indian Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat told the Lok Sabha in a written response that the United States, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada were the top five countries contributing to Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) in India between 2020 and 2024, says NDTV.
Shekhawat said, "The top 10 countries for FTAs in India during this period are the US, Bangladesh, the UK, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Germany, France and Singapore."
According to the data, Bangladesh was the top source of visitors in 2020 and 2023, while the United States led in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
