Zubaida Rahman pledges equality, merit-based jobs and justice for all
She says while the country faces many challenges, solutions are possible through careful planning and coordinated effort
Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, pledged to ensure equality, merit-based employment, justice, and respect for labourers in her first public speech at a political event today (4 February).
Speaking at a views exchange meeting with professionals organised by the BNP Election Steering Committee at Hatirjheel Amphitheater, Zubaida Rahman said that while the country faces many challenges, solutions are possible through careful planning and coordinated effort.
"We all face many problems, but these can be solved through proper planning. Our politics is the politics of proper planning," she said.
Zubaida went on to say, "We want to give everyone the dignity of labor, merit-based jobs, rights and justice, and equal opportunities for all."
Emphasising a people-centred approach to governance, she added, "We aim to build a society and state where citizens come before the leader. We will work together to develop the country, putting the people first."
Addressing those present, she acknowledged the audience's participation and concerns.
"You have shared your valuable time with us and told us your problems. We will continue to listen and learn, so that we can create a state based on equality, knowledge, and the dignity of labor by addressing problems fairly," she said.
This marked Zubaida Rahman's first public speech at a political event since returning to Bangladesh. Although she has previously attended events alongside her husband, she had not addressed the audience before.
