FM Khalilur’s visit to deepen bilateral ties with Bangladesh: Maldives
The foreign minister is visiting the island nation as a special guest for its 61st Independence Day celebrations.
Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman arrived in the Maldives today (25 July) on a three-day official visit that the Maldivian government said would help deepen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
"The visit sets the stage for enhanced cooperation in the years ahead," the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Khalilur, who is visiting the Maldives from 25 to 27 July as a special guest of the Maldivian government, will attend celebrations marking the country's 61st Independence Day.

He was received by Maldivian Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam and senior officials of the foreign ministry upon his arrival.
During the visit, Khalilur is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Mohamed Muizzu and hold talks with Maldivian Foreign Minister Adam.
According to the Maldivian foreign ministry, the discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations, reviewing existing areas of cooperation and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
The two sides are also expected to exchange views on regional and international issues and reaffirm their commitment to working together in regional and multilateral forums.
Khalilur travelled to the Maldives via Doha from Manila, where he had been on an official visit, a senior Bangladeshi official told UNB.
The visit is Khalilur's first official trip to the Maldives since he assumed office as foreign minister on 17 February this year.
