Ansar member dismissed for trying to steal phones from burnt cargo building of Dhaka airport
Zainul Islam was on night duty on 5 November when he entered the burnt section of the building and tried to remove the items unlawfully.
An Ansar member has been dismissed from service after being caught attempting to steal feature phones from a building in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's cargo village, ravaged in a massive fire there last month.
Ansar said in a press release today (7 November) that the accused, Zainul Islam, was caught red-handed while trying to secretly take out several phones from the damaged building.
According to the release, Zainul was on night duty at the airport on 5 November. Driven by greed, he entered the burnt section of the building under the pretext of personal necessity and tried to remove the items unlawfully.
The director general of the force ordered Zainul's immediate and permanent dismissal from service for misconduct, the release says.
