Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho's wife Sheikh Shaira Rahman and their younger daughter have been barred from going to Thailand this afternoon.

Immigration officials at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka barred them to board on a flight (TG-322) of the Thai Airways at the airport around 1:35pm today (13 May).

Partho said his wife and younger daughter were going to Thailand for treatment, adding that they returned to home as the SB (Special Branch) informed their decision.

But, the SB personnel didn't misbehave with them, he said.

In response to a question about his current occupation, he said, "I'm a man of law— that's my profession. My family members will go abroad after obtaining the necessary permission."

The SB has taken the total control of the immigration after former president M Abdul Hamid's departure from the country.

It has been thought that Sheikh Shaira Rahman was barred from going abroad as she is the daughter of Sheikh Helal, cousin of ousted Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
