AIUB student killed in road accident on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway
The accident occurred this evening on the Ashariarchar Bridge in Pirojpur union

A student was killed, and another was critically injured after a freight lorry rammed their motorcycle on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Narayanganj's Sonargaon today (11 March).
"The accident occurred this evening on the Ashariarchar Bridge in Pirojpur union," Kanchpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Wahid Morshed told The Business Standard.
The deceased Tanvir Hasan Majumder, 25, and the injured, Faisal Mia, were both undergraduate students at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). They were traveling by motorcycle from Dhaka to Cumilla.
According to police, a speeding lorry struck their motorcycle from behind in the Ashariarchar area of the highway. Tanvir died on the spot, while Faisal sustained severe injuries. Locals rushed Faisal to a nearby hospital for treatment.
OC Kazi said Tanvir's body has been sent to Narayanganj Victoria General Hospital for an autopsy.
"Police are currently working to locate and seize the lorry involved in the accident," he added.
