Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan today inaugurated the first Cyber Security Awareness Month -2024 of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) at Air Force Headquarters' Auditorium in Dhaka Cantonment.

"The message was clear that cyber security is no longer just a technical subject, but it is an essential and critical part of our everyday life," the Air Chief said on the occasion.

Noting that the protection of sensitive information is one of the most crucial benefits of strong cyber security measures and with the increasing number of cyber threats and attacks, he said it has become imperative for organisations and individuals to safeguard their sensitive data from unauthorised access and potential breaches.

"We can mitigate the risks and protect ourselves against potential harm by implementing effective cyber security measures," the BAF Chief observed, according to a release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) this afternoon.

The Air chief said cyber security isn't just the responsibility of our Information Technology (IT) experts, it requires all of us to work together, to keep all safe in cyberspace and through these collective efforts.

Bangladesh Air Force would continue to play a pioneer role in best cyber security practices and set an example for others to follow, he mentioned.

Highly appreciating the efforts of the Directorate of Cyber Warfare and Information Technology for taking the initiative and encouraged all to stay aware and cautious, the Air chief said this month-long programme would help create mass awareness among the air forces members.

BAF officers, Airmen and other members from Air Headquarters, BAF Base Bashar and BAF Base Kurmitola were present there. Rest representatives from other Bases were present through Video TeleConference (VTC).
