Accused confesses to killing drug dealer after being denied yaba on credit

A man has confessed in court to killing an alleged drug dealer in Dhaka's Bangshal area after being refused yaba tablets on credit.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masum Mia recorded the confession of the accused, Md Jibon Mia, 30, yesterday (7 August) and ordered him to be sent to jail, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Prosecution Department Sub-Inspector Tanvir Hossain confirmed today (8 August).

According to case documents, on 6 August, Jibon approached alleged drug dealer Md Hira at 48 Golok Pal Lane in Bangshal's Malitola area, requesting two yaba tablets on credit purchase. When Hira refused, an argument ensued.
At one point, Jibon stabbed Hira in the left cheek, the left side of the chest, and the abdomen with a sharp knife before fleeing. Hira died on the spot from excessive bleeding.
A murder case was later filed with Bangshal Police Station over the incident.
