Abu Sayed murder: ICT orders authorities to produce four accused on 9 April
The investigation report regarding genocide allegations against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina is expected this month, says Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today (2 March) directed authorities concerned to produce four individuals arrested over the murder of Begum Rokeya University student Abu Sayed before the court on 9 April.
The accused include former ASI Amir Hossain, constable Sujan Chandra Roy, Begum Rokeya University proctor Shariful Islam, and Chhatra League activist Emran Chowdhury Akash.
The tribunal, led by its Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder, also ordered the submission of the case's investigation report by 9 April.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam, who presented the prosecution's petition, told reporters that the investigation report regarding genocide allegations against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina is expected this month.
He said the accused police officers were directly involved in Abu Sayed's killing, while the university proctor and student activist played a role in instigating the violence.
Abu Sayed was one of the first to be killed by police firing during the July-August uprising last year.
The incident occurred on 16 July when a clash broke out between the police and protesting students at Park Mor in front of Begum Rokeya University.
A case was filed on 17 July with Tajhat Police Station, by Bhubuti Bhushan Ray, an assistant sub-inspector of the station and in-charge of the university police camp, as the plaintiff.
The killing of Abu Sayed brought nationwide condemnation regarding police brutality during the student movement.
