Abductor held, teenage victim of Nilphamari rescued from Ashulia

Earlier, the arrested accused with his accomplices forcibly kidnapped the teenage victim girl from Yugir Danga village in Kaliganj Mouza under Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district on 13 March 2025

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an abductor and rescued a kidnapped teenage girl of Dimla upazila in Nilphamari from Shreepur area under the Ashulia police station in Dhaka on Wednesday evening.

"The arrested abductor is Md Sajib Islam, 29, son of Md Abdul Latif of village Uttar Titpara under Dimla upazila in Nilphamari district," said a press release issued today.

Earlier, the arrested accused with his accomplices forcibly kidnapped the teenage victim girl from Yugir Danga village in Kaliganj Mouza under Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district on 13 March 2025.

Subsequently, the victim's father filed a case in this connection with Dimla police station in Nilphamari.

The incident created a sensation in the area and came to the notice of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-23 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13. 

Alongside the police, CPC-2 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13 enforced intelligence activities and started a shadow investigation into the case to rescue the victim and nab the absconding accused abductor.

On a tip off, a team of the CPC-2 from Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13 jointly with the CPC-2 of RAB-4 at Nabinagar in Dhaka arrested the prime accused Sajib and rescued the victim from Shreepur area under Ashulia police station in Dhaka at 6 pm on Wednesday.

The arrested accused along with the victim have been handed over to Dimla police station of Nilphamari district, the release added.
