9 named for Independence Day Award 2020

The government has announced names of nine people and one institution who will receive the Independence Day Awards 2020 for their outstanding contributions to the country. 

They are: Golam Dastagir Gazi, Commander Abdur Rauf (posthumous), Anwar Pasha and Azizur Rahman in Independence & Liberation War category. Dr Md Obaidul Kabir Choudhury and Dr AKMA Muqtadir in Medical science category. SM Riaz Uddin Ahmed in literature and Kalipada Das and Ferdousi Mazumder in Culture.  

The institution Bharateswari Homes has been awarded in Education.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the awards to the recipients on March 25.
