Six pairs of intercity trains of eastern zone resumed operation today after two months as train services across the country was closed due to coronavirus pandemic.

With the new six, a total of 10 pairs of intercity city trains out of 95of Eastern Zone resumed its operation till today as fourmore pairs of train of the zone resumed operation on May 31 with full compliance of hygiene rules, said Nasir Uddin Ahmed, general manager of Eastern Zone Railway.

On that day, four other pairs of train also restarted operation on different zones.

After four days, 11 pairs of trains resumed operationacross the country in second phases today including the six pairs from eastern zone, he said.
