7 dead, several injured as bus rams into workers in Bogura
The bus lost control and struck a group of paddy harvest workers waiting for work, while residents blocked the highway demanding speed breakers.
At least seven labourers were killed and 15 others injured after a passenger bus ran over a group of roadside workers in Bogura's Sadar upazila early today (7 August).
The accident occurred at around 5am in Erulia on the Bogura–Naogaon regional highway. The identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed.
The injured are receiving treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.

According to locals, a Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan bus travelling from Dhaka to Naogaon lost control near Erulia Bazar and crashed into an electric pole on the roadside. The bus then ran over 25 to 30 paddy harvest workers who had been waiting there in search of work.
Three workers died at the scene.
Bogura Sadar Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shafiqul Islam Shafik said legal procedures are underway.
Following the accident, residents blocked the Bogura–Naogaon regional highway, demanding the installation of speed breakers at the site.
The blockade triggered traffic congestion stretching for at least six kilometres on both sides of the highway.
