5 die after consuming toxic liquor in Munshiganj, 3 more hospitalised

Five people have died in Munshiganj's Tongibari upazila after allegedly consuming toxic liquor, while three others remain hospitalised in critical condition.
According to local sources, the deaths occurred between Thursday night (4 September) and yesterday afternoon (5 September) while the victims were undergoing treatment. Their funeral prayers were held, and they were buried at a local graveyard shortly afterwards.
Confirming the matter, Md Anisur Rahman, chairman of Kathadia-Shimulia Union Parishad, told the media that the deceased were identified as Bachchu Bepari, 65, Ibrahim Munshi, 70, Rahmat Ullah Bepari, 68 of Katadia village, Amir Hossain, 60, and Hossain Doctor, 65.
He said, quoting locals, that the deaths were caused by excessive consumption of toxic liquor.
The individuals still under treatment in hospitals in Dhaka are Rahmatullah, 65, Al Amin Sarkar, 45, and Sizan Bepari, 26.
