Thirty-eight more people, including women and children, were pushed into Bangladesh allegedly by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) through the Khagrachhari and Habiganj borders this morning (26 May).

The 19 people pushed in through the Khagrachhari border reportedly went to India's Haryana state for jobs earlier, reports UNB.

However, local enforcers detained them and brought in South Tripura to push them through the Mahalchhari border of Khagrachhari.

The BSF members pushed them around 3:30am through the Feni River while Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) took them under their custody and kept them at a local government primary school.

Matiranga Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Manjurul Alam said they were verifying the detainees' identities and would send them to their respective areas after confirmation of their identities.

With these, the BSF has so far pushed 104 people into the country in the current month through the borders in Khagrachhari.

Meanwhile, BSF pushed another 19 people into Bangladesh from Habiganj's Kalenga border, reports BSS.

Zakaria Ibne Kadir, in charge of the Kalenga Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) camp, said the push-in occurred around 7:30am this morning.

The individuals have been kept at the Kalenga Border Outpost (BOP) and will be handed over to the Chunarughat Police Station following legal procedures, he added.
