33 fishermen detained for fishing in Sundarbans

Naval police detained 33 fishermen for fishing in the sanctuary in a canal of Behalamora area under Satkhira range on Thursday.

Additional Superintendent of Khulna Police Ziauddin Ahmed made the disclosure during a press briefing today.

"They were caught during a drive led by Inspector Ziaur Rahman to rescue a fisherman who was abducted by the bandit group Zia Bahini," he said.

"Police seized 5-mound of fishes and 50 Fishing nets from their possession," he added.
