3-year-old dies after falling from stairs in Chattogram

A three-year-old child died after falling from the stair railing of a four-storey building in Chattogram's Anwara upazila last night (31 July).
The incident occurred around 9pm in the Paschimchal area of Barashat union.
The deceased, Mohammad Abir, was the son of Mohammad Delwar of the Ismail Miajhi Bari area in Gohira Bar Aulia under Raipur union. The family had been living in a rented flat on the fourth floor of the building in the Paschimchal area.
According to locals, Abir was playing on the building's stair railing when he lost his balance and fell to the ground and got critically injured.
Family members rushed him to Anwara Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Dr Zahidul Hasan, the on-duty physician at Anwara Upazila Health Complex, told The Business Standard that the child had died before being brought to the hospital. "He had severe injuries on different parts of his body," he said.
