Three more cases have been filed against 2500 unnamed people in connection with the attacks, vandalism, and arson during protests of Hefazat-e-Islam in Brahmanbaria from 26-28 March.

However, no new one was arrested in the cases.

According to district police sources, so far eight cases have been filed with Sadar Model Police Station, two cases with Ashuganj Police Station and another case with Sarail Police Station till 31 March night.

Some 11,000 people have been made accused in the cases.

Besides, 21 people were arrested in the cases, said Imtiaz Ahmmed, officer of the Special Branch of Brahmanbaria Police.

The Islamist group locked into sporadic clashes with law enforcement agencies from Friday to Sunday in Chattogram, Brahmanbaria, Dhaka and Narayanganj during their protests and hartal over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh visit.
