3 dead, 7 injured in head-on collision between bus, covered van in Cox's Bazar
The collision took place when a Cox’s Bazar-bound covered van from Dhaka and a Chattogram-bound bus operated by Purabi Paribahan collided head-on

Three people were killed and seven others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van in Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar this morning (16 June).
The accident occurred around 8am in the Rashid Nagar area along the Chattogram–Cox's Bazar highway, according to Md Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Ramu Highway Police Station.
"The deceased and injured were all passengers of the bus. Their identities have not yet been confirmed," the OC said.
The collision took place when a Cox's Bazar-bound covered van from Dhaka and a Chattogram-bound bus operated by Purabi Paribahan collided head-on.
Following the crash, the bus veered off the road and plunged into a ditch, while the covered van came to a halt after hitting a roadside tree, the OC added.
Among the three deceased are two women and a child. The injured passengers were rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Nasir further said the drivers of both the bus and the van fled the scene after the accident.
"Efforts are underway to recover the vehicles and investigate the incident," Nasir said.
