At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups over a past dispute regarding "ducks entering a crop field" in Nasirnagar, Brahmanbaria.
The incident took place on Friday (28 March) afternoon between two groups in Ghujiakhai village of Chatalpar union of the upazila, according to police and locals.
The injured are being treated locally. However, their names and identities could not be confirmed immediately.
Nasirnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Khairul Alam said, "The clash between the two parties occurred due to a previous dispute. Necessary legal action is being taken in this incident."
Police and locals said two weeks ago, some ducks of Roshena Begum, a resident of Ghujiakhai village, entered the cropland of local Jaydar Mia of the same village.
In a fit of rage over the incident, Jaydar Mia reportedly went to Roshena Begum's house and beat her up.
Two days after the incident, Roshena's supporters found Jaydar Mia alone on the street and beat him up in retaliation, resulting in further tension between the two sides.
Later, with the help of locals, the two sides agreed to a compromise, but Jaydar Mia's people beat up one of Roshena's supporters again recently.
Later today, both sides engaged in a clash with local weapons again.
