2 killed in Barishal after being hit by bus
Two men riding a motorcycle were killed after being hit by a Dhaka-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan in the C&B No 1 Bridge area of Barishal city.
The deceased have been identified as contractors Md Mahbubur Rahman, 60, from the Kalusha Road area, and Imran Hossain, 40, from the Karim Kutir area.
The fatal accident occurred yesterday afternoon (12 May).
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Mizanur Rahman said the two contractors were riding the same motorcycle.
While entering the Barishal-Dhaka Highway from the C&B Bridge number 1 area via Kazipara, they were hit by a Dhaka-bound Shyamoli Paribahan bus.
Locals rushed the injured men to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal, where both succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
The bus involved in the accident has been seized, but the driver and helper fled the scene, the OC added.
He further said the families took the bodies without post-mortem examination.
Legal action will be taken if the families file any complaint.
