2 children drown in Brahmanbaria
Both children drowned in ponds near their homes

Two children drowned on Saturday afternoon in ponds located in different areas of Brahmanbaria.
The deceased are Hafsana, 3, daughter of Kamal Mia from Sherpur area and Rifat, 1, son of Sadek Mia from Monpur area.
Local people said, Hafsana fell in a pond near her home while she was playing. She was rescued in a critical condition and then taken to the district Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead on arrival.

The same afternoon, Rifat drowned in a pond near his home in Monpur area. He was also rescued in a critical condition and then taken to the same hospital. The doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Emergency Department Doctor Sakhawat Hossain Shamim said both the children died before reaching the hospital.
