14 candidates withdraw nominations from Rucsu, Senate polls
So far, nine panels have been announced for the elections.

A total of 14 candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers from the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (Rucsu), Senate student representative, and hall union elections.
Speaking to reporters this evening (13 September), Rucsu Chief Election Commissioner F Nazrul Islam said the final list of candidates will be announced tomorrow (14 September). Following the announcement, official campaigning will formally begin.
According to the Election Commission, most candidates withdrew from multiple posts to retain their candidacy for a single position.
Among them are two candidates for vice-president (VP), one for general secretary (GS), two for assistant secretary of environment and social welfare, one for women's affairs secretary, one for debate and literature secretary, one for sports secretary, one for media and publication secretary, one for assistant media and publication secretary, one for cultural affairs secretary, one executive member, and three for Senate student representative positions.
Meanwhile, after scrutiny, the commission declared 260 candidates valid for Rucsu, 60 for Senate student representatives, while it has yet to confirm the number of valid candidates for the hall unions.
So far, nine panels have been announced for the elections. Among them, only Bangladesh Chhatra Shibir and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal have managed to announce complete panels.
The voting is scheduled to be held on 25 September.
