According to the case statement, a group of individuals forcibly entered the celebration committee’s office on the evening of 30 June and vandalised furniture and other property.
A total of 13 individuals, including an expelled Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader, have been sued in connection with an alleged attack on the Janmashtami Udjapon Parishad office near JM Sen Hall in Chattogram city.
The case was filed yesterday (3 August) by Deeptee Dash, with the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Md Abu Bakar Siddique.
The accused are ex-Chhatra Dal leader Saurav Priyo Pal, Biplob Chowdhury, Bappy Dey, Miton Robi Das, Mithun Baishnab, Sukanto Talukder Jewel, Apu Chowdhury Akash, Subroto Aich, Mithun Acharja, Sanjoy Chakraborty Manik, Dolon Kumar Deb, Uttom Dhar and Mithun Kanti Dash.

The complaint also alleges that a woman was physically assaulted during the incident.
The charges include vandalism, property damage and violence against women.
Plaintiff's lawyer Advocate Kajol Kanti Dey confirmed that the court has recorded the complainant's statement and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Metro Unit to probe the matter.
Earlier on 31 July, BNP's student wing, Chhatra Dal, expelled Saurav Priyo Pal, a former vice-president of its Chattogram Metropolitan unit, for alleged organisational misconduct, including his suspected involvement in the attack.
