BNP calls for nationwide prayers, urges partymen to avoid victory rallies after poll win
The prayers will be held to seek the eternal peace of the soul of the late former prime minister Khaleda Zia and to pray for the future prosperity of the nation.
The BNP has directed its activists and supporters to refrain from holding victory processions or public celebrations following its performance in yesterday's landmark national election, instead calling for a day of nationwide prayers today (13 February).
In a statement issued by the BNP Media Cell, the party requested leaders, activists, and the general public to gather at mosques across the country today after Jummah prayers.
The prayers will be held to seek the eternal peace of the soul of the late former prime minister Khaleda Zia and to pray for the future prosperity of the nation.

"No victory processions or rallies are to be organised to mark the election results," the party directive stated, emphasising a sombre and grateful approach to the unofficial victory.
The party also urged members of other faiths to organise similar prayers at temples, churches, and pagodas across the country.
While official results are still being finalised by the Election Commission, BNP's Central Election Steering Committee has already projected a win in 153 seats, with Chairman Tarique Rahman unofficially declared elected in both Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6.
The 13th national election and the accompanying referendum on constitutional reforms were marked by a largely peaceful atmosphere.
Following the close of polls, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus hailed the exercise as a historic milestone, urging all political stakeholders to maintain the democratic momentum as the country transitions to an elected administration.
