Qatar extends expired and near-expiry entry visas for one month
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that “the extension process will be automatic through electronic systems, with no fees required, and without the need to visit relevant departments or submit additional applications.”
Qatar's Ministry of Interior announced the extension of all types of entry visas that have expired or are nearing expiry for a period of one month, effective Saturday, 28 February 2026, with further extensions possible depending on developments, accoring to a press release.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that "the extension process will be automatic through electronic systems, with no fees required, and without the need to visit relevant departments or submit additional applications."
Regarding entry visas of all types that incurred violations before 28 February, the ministry clarified that holders "must pay the required settlement amount for the period of the violation. The extension and fee exemption will then apply to them starting from the aforementioned date."
The ministry said it "continues to monitor developments and take necessary measures as needed to ensure the stability of the legal status of residents and visitors."
It also urged the public to "stay in their homes and buildings and not to go out except when absolutely necessary, to stay away from windows and open areas, and to comply with the official instructions issued by the competent authorities in order to preserve public safety," and called for following its official accounts for any subsequent updates.
