At least five people were killed in US-Israeli attacks in south-west Iran during a mission to rescue a missing US crew member from a downed F-15 fighter jet, The Guardian reported, citing Iranian sources.
The Tasnim news agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), quoted the governor of the mountainous Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces as saying that the fatalities occurred in the "Black Mountain" area of Kohgiluyeh.
The strikes reportedly took place as US forces worked to recover the second crew member of the downed F-15 jet. While few official details of the rescue operation have been confirmed, US President Donald Trump has said no Americans were killed or injured during the mission.
