Iran warns UK bases used in attacks on its territory would be 'legitimate target': IRGC

Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned the United Kingdom that any military base used by the United States to launch attacks on Iranian territory would be considered a "legitimate target", according to a statement issued by the force's public relations office.

Referring to the reported use of US B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford in Britain, the statement said: "The aggressor US military resorted to using B-1 bombers, launching them from RAF Fairford in Britain. As officials at the Foreign Ministry reiterated, any base used to attack Iranian territories would be a legitimate target for us."

The Revolutionary Guards also warned Britain against providing further support for US and Israeli military actions against Iran, says the Middle East Eye.

"We warn the United Kingdom - which was the main cause of the tragedies suffered by the peoples of our region, and whose dark records carries dividing the Islamic nations, carrying out widespread massacres, installing despotic governments, and most importantly administering and organizing the occupation of Palestine and founding Israel, and having played the biggest role in the latest American and Israeli aggressions against Iran - not to further add to its record," the statement said.

The statement did not provide further details on how Iran would respond or identify any specific military targets. Britain did not immediately respond to the statement.
