UAE allows expats with expired visas to return without new entry permit
The United Arab Emirates has allowed expatriate residents who are currently outside the country and whose residency visas have expired to return without obtaining a new entry permit, according to a temporary measure announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
The Initiative will remain in effect for one month—from 28 February to 31 March —and is aimed at residents who were unable to return to the UAE before their visas expired due to exceptional circumstances, reports The Gulf News.
Under the measure, affected residents can re-enter the country during the specified period without the usual requirement of securing a new entry permit.
Authorities said the step reflects the UAE's continued efforts to support residents and adopt flexible administrative measures in response to extraordinary situations.
