Trump threatens to bomb Oman if it obstructs Strait of Hormuz reopening
Trump also says Iran should surrender, while claiming his administration has established a direct backchannel with the IRGC.
US President Donald Trump has threatened to bomb Oman if the Gulf country gets in the way of efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, reports Al Jazeera.
"If Oman gets in the way, we'll bomb the s*** out of them," Trump said in an interview with Fox News.
Iran has said it is holding talks with Oman over reopening the strategic waterway, which has been at the centre of the ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump also called on Iran to surrender, saying the country should "put up the white flag of surrender".
He said his administration had established a direct backchannel with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), while stressing that he was not in a hurry to end the conflict.
"They're good poker players, but they're dying," Trump said, referring to the IRGC.
"I have no time schedule. I'm not in a hurry," he added.
