India's top opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi have criticised US President Donald Trump's warning to Iran, saying any rhetoric that contemplates the "end of civilisation" is unacceptable in the modern world.
In a post on X yesterday (7 April), Rahul Gandhi said while wars remain a tragic reality, the use of extreme language or actions that could lead to catastrophic consequences must be rejected.
"Wars are tragic, yet they remain a reality. Any language or action that contemplates the end of civilisation is unacceptable in the modern world," he wrote.
He also issued a strong warning against the use of nuclear weapons, saying that such actions can never be justified under any circumstances.
"The use of nuclear weapons can never be justified under any circumstances," Rahul Gandhi added.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today took to X to slam "Western powers" for speaking in a "despicable language" on the West Asia war and said the world is understanding as the "veil of morality falls" from the face of the West.
She said, "Hatred, anger, violence and injustice never win, while courage always wins."
"Iranian men and women formed human chains around their country's resources while Western powers spoke in a despicable language, heralding the 'end of a civilisation'," Priyanka Gandhi said on X.
