Protesters call Trump 'Hitler of our time' as he dines at Washington DC restaurant

Donald Trump was confronted by protesters shouting "Free DC! Free Palestine! Trump is the Hitler of our time!" as he dined at a restaurant in Washington, videos online show.

The former US president briefly approached the demonstrators inside Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak + Stone Crab, a venue a short distance from the White House. He paused a few feet away, nodding and smiling, before signalling for them to be removed with the words: "come on, let's go."
Secret Service agents then escorted the protesters out. Some carried Palestinian flags, while other diners responded by booing or chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!"
Code Pink, a feminist activist group, claimed responsibility. "While Trump, JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth and others feasted at a steakhouse, we stood our ground and told them the truth: Free DC. Free Palestine. Trump is the Hitler of our time," the group posted on social media.
Trump's dinner followed weeks of him boasting that federalising Washington's police and deploying the national guard had turned the capital into "a safe zone". On arrival, he was met by both cheers and boos, with opponents denouncing US backing for Israel's war in Gaza.
"We're standing right in the middle of DC, which as you know about, over the last year, was a very unsafe place – over the last 20 years – and now it's got virtually no crime," Trump told reporters. He added that only months earlier he would not have risked standing "in the middle of the street".
Eating out in public is an unusual move for Trump. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt later confirmed that he and his entourage ate "crab, shrimp, salad, steak and dessert."
He was joined by the vice-president, JD Vance, defence secretary Pete Hegseth, secretary of state Marco Rubio, deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, Leavitt and others. Vance was filmed shaking hands with diners and telling them to "enjoy their meal."
