Iran launched a fourth wave of attacks on Israel within two hours, as the Israeli military said it carried out "wide-scale" strikes inside Iran, marking a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict, reports Middle East Eye.
Amid the intensifying hostilities, Iran's Red Crescent Society said Israeli-US attacks have caused extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, claiming more than 87,000 non-military units have been damaged or destroyed since the war began.
Israeli media reported that a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy was killed in Bandar Abbas. The commander was reportedly involved in efforts to close the Strait of Hormuz. However, there was no immediate confirmation from Iranian officials.
Meanwhile, the conflict has also spilt over into Lebanon, where Israel said one of its soldiers was killed during fighting in the south. The soldier was identified as Uri Greenberg, 21, while two others were wounded. The latest fatality brings the number of Israeli soldiers killed in southern Lebanon to three since 2 March, when Israel resumed its military operations there.
The Iran-backed group Hezbollah said it had fired missiles at the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Shmona.
Earlier, Israeli media reported that several soldiers were evacuated from southern Lebanon for medical treatment.
The situation remains volatile, with simultaneous strikes and cross-border exchanges raising concerns of a broader regional conflict.
