If you're just tuning in, here's a quick summary of what's been happening with President Trump's trade war:
- China has hit back by putting an 84% tariff on all products coming in from the US, making the trade fight between the two countries worse.
- This happened after Trump first put a 104% tariff on goods from China, then raised it to 125%. He said it was because China wasn't showing enough respect.
- Even though Trump is being tough on China, he has stopped higher tariffs on goods from other countries for now. Still, there will be a general 10% tariff on imports.
- After hearing that some tariffs might not go up, stock markets in Asia went up. One expert said people in the region are really relieved.
- In the US, the stock market (Wall Street) made big gains on Wednesday after days of losses.
- At a Nascar event at the White House, Trump said he still believes the US will make fair trade deals with China and other countries.
- China has taken another complaint to the World Trade Organization, saying the US is being a bully.
- Some countries are trying to work things out with the US For example, Vietnam says the US has agreed to start talks about a trade deal.
