The architectural plan of the mosque in Ayodhya, the name of which is yet to be decided, was released recently.

The plan showed a blend of the designs of many contemporary mosques across the world, reports New Delhi Television Ltd. (NDTV).

In a computer-generated image of the planned mosque, a massive glass dome across a picturesque garden was shown.

The mosque will also have a hospital building with futuristic design behind it.

Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF), which was set up by the Sunni Waqf Board six months ago to build the mosque, in a statement said that the design echoed modern architecture of mosques around the world.

"Professor Pushpesh Pant, consultant and curator for the archives and museum at the site, mentioned the need for a good museum to showcase the joint accomplishments and struggles of the Hindu and Muslim communities in India," the IICF Trust also said in the statement.

"The hospital will provide state-of-the-art facilities, much needed in the nearby area and population, focusing on malnourishment in children and expectant mothers," said the trust.

"The building will also house the trust office and publication house focusing on research and publication house of Indo Islamic cultural-literature studies," it added.

Foundation Ceremony:

The mosque that is to replace the Babri Masjid will have its foundation laid on the republic day of India on 26 January 2021, according to NDTV.

The round-shaped mosque will have the capacity to hold 2,000 namazis at a time.
