123 Bangladeshis among 198 foreigners denied entry at Kuala Lumpur airport
AKPS Director-General Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said all those denied entry will be deported under the 'Not to Land' (NTL) procedure, with airlines tasked to return them to their countries of origin

123 Bangladeshis among 198 foreign nationals were refused entry at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminals 1 and 2 yesterday (24 July), for failing to meet immigration requirements, including inadequate funds, no accommodation bookings, and unclear travel purposes.
According to a report by Bernama, Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) Director-General Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said all those denied entry will be deported under the 'Not to Land' (NTL) procedure, with airlines tasked to return them to their countries of origin.
Of the 198 individuals, 128 were stopped at Terminal 1, including 123 Bangladeshi nationals, two Pakistanis, two Indonesians, and one Syrian. The remaining 70 were intercepted at Terminal 2, comprising 51 Indonesians, 13 Indians, four Pakistanis, and two Vietnamese citizens.
Shuhaily also warned of possible syndicate involvement after officers discovered photographs of AKPS personnel on the mobile phones of several detainees.
These images are believed to have been shared to help others bypass enforcement.
"These images were likely shared by individuals previously deported. It's a sign that syndicates are adapting to enforcement actions," he said, adding that operations will continue to prevent Malaysia from being used as a transit hub for illegal entry.
