Arab League allies in Baghdad for Gaza
The Arab League, an alliance of Arab countries, has pledged to rebuild the Gaza Strip devastated by the Israeli military aggression. This pledge was made at an important conference held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on May 17. It also called for increased international pressure on Israel to stop the ongoing attack on Gaza, calling it a "genocide." At various stages of the conference, Middle Eastern and European leaders sharply criticized Israeli policies and compared them to violations of humanitarian and international law.
