October 18—the day that UN Security Council Resolution 2231 was supposed to expire—has become the beginning of a new geopolitical conflict. Instead of lifting sanctions on Iran, the United States and Europe have decided to keep the old sanctions in place. Is this just a diplomatic ploy, or is it a deliberate betrayal of the entire world order by Iran?
