In July 2024, the quota movement eventually transformed into the quota reform movement; which then became the anti-discrimination movement. The then government completely failed to deal with it politically or find a solution to the issue. They wanted to put pressure on the protesting students by using the police and law enforcement agencies to suppress them. Which backfired. The movement became violent, brutal, and many people died. The students raised 9-point demands, which later transformed into a phase of the government's downfall.
