The detection of defects in two PORV safety valves in the first unit of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has created uncertainty about the experimental power generation in September. It may take time to repair or install new valves. Even then, hundreds of tests and approvals from regulatory agencies are required. As a result, the power generation schedule will be determined by prioritizing safety.
