'Walton lifts follow zero-defect manufacturing philosophy, being exported in the global market'
As buildings grow taller and expectations grow sharper, Walton Lift shares how it is combining premium design, advanced engineering, and predictive maintenance to meet Bangladesh’s evolving needs
As someone deeply involved in Walton's operations, I often say that a lift is not just a vertical transport system—it is a long-term safety commitment. In Bangladesh, where the building construction is rising rapidly, we have a responsibility to ensure that every lift we deploy meets reliability standards that go far beyond what typical international certifications demand. This belief shapes our entire approach, from engineering and design to service and customer experience.
Setting internal benchmarks beyond EN81 and ISO standards
While Walton Lift fully adheres to global certifications like EN81 and ISO, we recognised early that these standards alone are not enough for Bangladesh's unique conditions. Our geography, climatic diversity, coastal salinity, and evolving structural environment require additional layers of protection and performance. That is why we developed our own multi-layered internal quality assurance framework.
Every lift we manufacture goes through component-level stress testing, safety redundancy verification, and extensive endurance simulation at the Walton Lift Test Tower—our newly commissioned facility dedicated to R&D and field-condition reliability assessment. We follow a zero-defect philosophy backed by a 360-degree inspection protocol. Moreover, our traceability system records the lifecycle of every critical component, ensuring long-term safety and stability even in challenging environments.
Designing cabins that feel premium, comfortable, and modern
Bangladesh's real estate customers have evolved, and so have their expectations. A lift cabin today must be more than functional—it has to feel refined. That is why we are combining design aesthetics, ergonomics, and engineering to make our cabins more premium and experiential.
We now incorporate premium-grade stainless steel with anti-fingerprint finishes, panoramic glass options, and specialised insulation to minimise noise and vibration. Our cabins feature ambient lighting, wider door openings, dynamic control panels, and multiple interior themes—giving architects the freedom to match a building's identity. For us, a lift ride should be quiet, smooth, and visually pleasant from start to finish.
The advantage of local manufacturing: Faster, more flexible, more reliable
One of Walton's greatest strengths is our end-to-end domestic manufacturing ecosystem. Because we produce key components locally, we can customise lifts based on cabin size, speed, capacity, or interior design within days—not months, as is often the case with imported brands.
Local manufacturing also speeds up installation significantly and ensures immediate availability of spare parts. Our nationwide service network allows customers to receive support within hours. This combination of speed, flexibility, and responsiveness gives Walton a clear advantage and allows us to keep our commitments without delay.
Smart, IoT-Enabled Lifts
As buildings get smarter, lifts must evolve too. Walton is developing IoT-enabled controllers capable of real-time monitoring of key metrics such as ride data, motor health, brake performance, and door operation cycles. These systems can flag anomalies before they turn into problems—helping prevent accidents and reducing downtime.
We are currently testing cloud-connected dashboards, remote diagnostics, and AI-driven fault detection. Our goal is to bring predictive maintenance and intelligent lift ecosystems to Bangladesh, ensuring a new level of safety, efficiency, and responsiveness.
Creating a stronger safety culture across the industry
No matter how well-designed a lift is, safety can only be guaranteed with proper maintenance and responsible use. That is why Walton prioritises awareness-building among developers, contractors, and building owners.
We regularly host workshops, maintenance training, and technical seminars across the country. Events like the Walton Innovation Summit, IAB industrial visits, and developers' meetups have strengthened industry-wide awareness about correct installation and maintenance practices. Alongside training, we also offer structured maintenance guidelines, certified technicians, and mandatory safety-check schedules for every lift we install.
Our aim is simple: to cultivate a national culture where lift safety is non-negotiable.

Changing customer expectations in a more vertical Bangladesh
As our cities grow vertically, both developers and residents are demanding faster lifts, higher load capacities, better energy efficiency, and enhanced ride comfort. Customers now expect stylish cabin interiors, smart access panels, and strong after-sales support.
There is also a growing preference for fire-rated emergency lifts and multiple-lift setups in mid-rise buildings. Walton is responding to these evolving expectations by expanding its product range, improving ride technology, and strengthening our service network nationwide.
Positioning Bangladeshi-made lifts for global competitiveness
Lifts are increasingly being aligned with Walton's export ambitions. We are enhancing component automation, deepening compliance with advanced global standards, and expanding our Lift Test Tower's certification capacity to cater to international markets.
Recently, Walton signed an MoU with Vertus Engineering in Azerbaijan and is in active discussions with a Sri Lankan company to initiate lift exports in South Asia. Through innovation, consistent quality, and competitive pricing, we aim to position Bangladeshi-made lifts as a dependable global alternative.
Sustainability as a core part of future innovations
Sustainability is becoming essential for modern buildings, and lifts are no exception. Walton is investing in energy-efficient PMSM motors, regenerative drives, recyclable cabin materials, LED-based lighting, and smart standby modes that reduce power consumption during idle time. By embedding sustainability into both design and production, we hope to contribute to greener, more efficient buildings nationwide.
