Competitive cricket has finally returned after seven long months. The BCB President's Cup kicked-off on Sunday where Najmul XI defeated Mahmudullah XI in the tournament opener. Najmul XI's pacers restricted Mahmudullah XI below 200 and chased down the target quite easily in the end.
In the second game of the tournament, Mahmudullah XI will face Tamim XI. Mahmudullah XI will want to get back to winning ways while Tamim and his co. will want to start the tournament with a win.
All eyes will be on Tamim XI when the Tamims come on to bat together for the first time. Under-19 world cup winner, Tanzid Hasan Tamim has said quite a few times that Tamim Iqbal has been his idol while growing up. It will be exciting to see how these two fare together. "Tamim has great potential. I really loved batting with him in nets. Hopefully, he will go a long way. I am really waiting to bat with him" senior Tamim said while praising his junior partner.
Under-19 winning captain Akbar Ali will also feature for the Tamim XI. Another interesting pair to watch for Tamim XI will be Mustafiz and Shoriful. Shoriful is an avid follower of Mustafiz and it will be a great chance for him to partner up with his idol. The likes of Saifuddin, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Khaled Ahmed, Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Taijul Islam will also be playing for Tamim XI.
ODI captain Tamim Iqbal has already said that his team will be eyeing for the trophy.  "Since we are one of the teams participating in the tournament, we have our eyes on the trophy. But the team that plays well on the field will be the champions. The matches will be competitive," said Tamim.
As Tamim XI got extra days to practice, the captain believes it will help their side. "We have had some good practice sessions. We also had two extra days to practice, hopefully this will play as an advantage," Tamim added.
