Tamim Iqbal regains consciousness, responding to calls
This was confirmed by former national team opener and BCB's Cricket Operations Manager, Shahriar Nafees. BCB's Chief Medical Officer, Debashish Chowdhury, also provided the same update regarding his responsiveness.

Tamim Iqbal was admitted to the hospital after suffering a massive heart attack and was in critical condition. Upon experiencing severe chest pain, he underwent an angiogram, which revealed a blockage, and a stent was placed in his heart. Afterward, he was kept in the coronary care unit (CCU), and at that time, there were still concerns about his condition.
As time passed, the condition of the country's top batsman improved. Tamim regained consciousness and is now responding to calls. This was confirmed to The Business Standard by former national team opener and BCB's Cricket Operations Manager, Shahriar Nafees. He wrote on his official Facebook account, "Tamim Iqbal has regained consciousness, and he has been kept in the CCU. Please pray for Tamim."
BCB's Chief Medical Officer, Debashish Chowdhury, also provided the same update regarding his responsiveness. He said, "The final update is that he is responding quickly. Everything is positive. However, we can't say he is out of danger before 24 hours. But his condition is improving. We cannot make any official statements yet. He is responding."
Tamim felt chest pain before a Dhaka Premier League match at the BKSP ground. The experienced batsman was immediately taken to KPJ Specialized Hospital and Nursing College near BKSP. After necessary tests, a blockage in his heart was discovered. Following the doctors' advice, an angiogram was conducted, and a stent was placed.
Today, Tamim's team, Mohammedan Sporting Club, had a match against Shinepukur Cricket Club. Tamim went to BKSP to attend the match and even conducted the toss. However, he fell ill shortly afterward and could not take the field. After a second visit to the local hospital, an attempt was made to airlift him to Dhaka, but his condition was not stable enough for a helicopter transfer, so treatment was provided on-site.
A BCB board meeting was scheduled for today, but it was postponed due to Tamim's illness. BCB President Faruque Ahmed rushed to the hospital to visit Tamim, along with BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury and several board directors. Tamim's wife, Ayesha Siddique, and his elder brother, Nafis Iqbal, are also at the hospital.
