'Ongoing DPL one of the best tournaments ever'
"Clubs and captains have not said anything about the umpiring so far this year. Not only that, the clubs and captains are so satisfied that they have termed it 'one of the best tournaments ever, " said Papon.

Umpiring standards have been questionable in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League with cries of favoritism. Many controversial decisions have been made by the on-field umpires thus far.
However, The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief, Nazmul Hassan, has set up a committee to investigate allegations of biased umpiring in the DPL.
After the board meeting on Tuesday, he told the media, "We have checked the forms where the match officials and both the captains sign. We haven't received any complaints from any team. Since 2017, we have hardly received such reports."
"Clubs and captains have not said anything about the umpiring so far this year. Not only that, the clubs and captains are so satisfied that they have termed it 'one of the best tournaments ever, " said Papon.
Last Friday, Mohammedan Sporting Club captain Shakib Al Hasan expressed his displeasure over the allegation of wrong umpiring in the match against arch-rivals Abahani Limited. Although Shakib was punished for that incident, the BCB also investigated the issue of umpiring.
A five-member inquiry committee was formed. The members of the investigation committee met with the captains and managers of 12 teams of DPL. However, no one there complained, not even Mohammedan.
In 2017, the BCB increased the use of technology after questions were raised about the umpiring of the DPL. Papon said, "Then some steps were taken. There was talk of installing cameras. We have not received any complaints since 2017."
