Nahid eyes personal growth as he departs for PSL
Nahid, who has received praise from various quarters including Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, stressed that his focus is on refining his skills and evolving as a cricketer.

Young pacer Nahid Rana is all set to embark on his first-ever venture outside the country, as he joins the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the first time.
The Bangladesh cricketer, who is excited to gain new experiences, has expressed a strong desire to learn and improve his skills during the tournament.
Before leaving the country for the PSL, Nahid spoke about the importance of focusing on personal growth rather than basking in the praise that has been showered upon him recently. He stated, "I try to see as little praise as possible. Praise makes people satisfied, and I try to avoid those things as much as I can. I always want to keep learning and not get complacent."
Nahid, who has received praise from various quarters including Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, stressed that his focus is on refining his skills and evolving as a cricketer. "I have confidence in myself. I want to give my best for the team. And if I can do that, something good will happen," he added.
Set to play for Peshawar Zalmi, Nahid was drafted by the team in the 'Golden' category during the PSL's 10th season in January 2025. Although Peshawar has already played five matches, with two wins and three losses, Nahid remains optimistic about his performance and his team's prospects. Peshawar currently sits in fourth place on the table with four points.
Regarding his teammates, Nahid shared his admiration for Pakistan's legendary bowlers, particularly expressing a wish to learn from them. "I'm not in competition with anyone. My fight is with myself. I want to learn from the legendary bowlers of Pakistan," he stated, while also acknowledging his appreciation for fellow cricketer Babar Azam.
Nahid's journey to the PSL follows a delay in receiving the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). After the first Test match against Zimbabwe, Nahid received the clearance and is now ready to join the PSL midway through the season.
Meanwhile, other Bangladeshi players, including Rishad Hossain, have also joined the PSL this year. Rishad is already in Pakistan and has played four matches, while Liton Das, unfortunately, was ruled out before the tournament began due to injury.
