Mohammadan's dramatic win sets up 'unofficial final' with Abahani for DPL title
With this victory, the upcoming Abahani-Mohammadan match on Tuesday has become an unofficial final in the Super League. The team that wins this match will claim the title.

Mohammadan Sporting Club's hopes of clinching the title remained intact, thanks to a thrilling last-minute cameo from Nasum Ahmed in their dramatic victory over Gazi Cricketers. With their title chances hanging by a thread after losing to Abahani in their previous match, the pressure was on Mohammadan to deliver. At one point, they required 23 runs off the last two overs to stay in contention.
The game had seemed almost out of reach when pacer Abdul Gaffar Saklain was tasked with defending the target. After Mohammad Saifuddin hit a boundary on the first ball and Nasum smashed a six on the fifth, Mohammadan collected 11 runs off the over, leaving them needing just 12 runs from the final six balls. In the crucial final over, bowled by Sheikh Parvez Hossain Jibon, Nasum's quickfire batting, including a six and a four, eased the pressure. With just one run needed from the last ball, Nasum calmly took a single, securing the victory and keeping their title hopes alive.
Earlier in the match, Mohammadan had chased down 236 runs. Despite losing wickets early, including Anisul Islam Imon and Toufik Khan Tushar, Rony Talukder and Hridoy rebuilt the innings with a 75-run partnership. Rony's 55 and Hridoy's 37 helped set a solid foundation, but wickets continued to fall, including Mahmudullah's. It was Nasum's 13-ball 21 runs that brought them to the brink of victory, with Saifuddin's supporting knock of 30 runs from 55 balls.
With this victory, the upcoming Abahani-Mohammadan match on Tuesday has become an unofficial final in the Super League. The team that wins this match will claim the title. If Mohammadan wins, both teams will be level on points. However, due to their superior head-to-head record, the title will go to Mohammadan. If the match is abandoned, Abahani will be crowned champions.
Abahani inches closer to title with dominant win over Rupganj
Abahani Limited moved a step closer to defending their title with a comprehensive victory over Legends of Rupganj, bolstered by solid performances with both bat and ball. Despite having a star-studded line-up, including Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Saif Hasan, Rupganj's batting has been inconsistent throughout the tournament, and it was no different against Abahani.
Abahani, led by their spinners, bowled Rupganj out for just 225 runs. Mossadek Hossain Saikat was the standout performer, taking four wickets, while Rakibul Hasan claimed three wickets. Rupganj's top-order collapse left them struggling at 65 for four, with only Shakil Hossain's 50 and Nihad Uzzaman's 49 helping to narrow the margin of defeat.
Chasing 225 runs, Abahani set the tone early with aggressive batting from Shahriar Kamal and Parvez Hossain Imon. They put on a quick 44-run partnership before Shahriar was dismissed for 32 runs. Parvez, in excellent form, anchored the chase with a steady 73 runs from 84 balls, while Jisan Alam supported with a quick 63 runs. Despite a few wickets falling towards the end, Abahani wrapped up the chase with seven wickets in hand, keeping their top spot on the points table. With 26 points from 13 wins, they are on track to secure the title by defeating Mohammadan in their final match.
Imranuzzaman's century guides Agrani Bank to a comfortable 137-run win over Gulshan
A blistering century from Imranuzzaman, combined with solid contributions from Taibur Rahman and Pritom Kumar, helped Agrani Bank Cricket Club post a mammoth total of 340 runs, which was ultimately too much for Gulshan Cricket Club to chase. Despite a spirited fight from Shakil Hossain (50) and Nihad Uzzaman (49), Gulshan was bowled out for just 203, handing Agrani Bank a commanding 137-run victory.
Imranuzzaman, who had been in good form, started his innings with a bang, scoring a quick-fire half-century off just 27 balls, including two sixes and nine boundaries. He was well supported by Amit Hasan, and the duo put on 82 runs for the first wicket. Although Amit was dismissed for 42, Imranuzzaman carried on, reaching his century off 83 balls. He was eventually dismissed for 123 runs, just after completing his landmark, leaving the field with a cramp and being stretchered off.
Taibur's 60 and Pritom Kumar's 59 runs pushed the total further, and Agrani Bank finished with 340 runs. Gulshan's chase never gained momentum, and despite a late flurry from Nihad and Shakil, they could only manage 203 runs. The bowling attack from Agrani Bank, led by Sandeep Roy Chowdhury, who took five wickets, and Shubhagato Hossain, who took two wickets, proved too much for Gulshan, who fell short by a wide margin.
